Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Coast
A chopper hovering above a well-attended California shoreline suddenly started spinning wildly, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm trees as onlookers looked on.
Recordings shared on social media capture the helicopter beginning to twirl over the beach then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a staircase near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders stated five people were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.

Authorities indicated the aircraft was connected to an yearly “Cars with Copters” fundraising event planned for the following day.
